Responding to the New CDC Study on Dining in Restaurants

By now, the new study about confirmed COVID-19 exposure and its correlation to restaurant dining is making the rounds. Here's what you should know.

If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s a good rundown from MedPage Today. You can read the direct results here.

In short, the dataset is small, the study doesn't address transmission IN restaurants, there were no geographic controls, and there was no assessment of participants' other activities that might have led to exposure.

We think this study is going to be a significant topic of discussion in the industry and government.

The National Restaurant Association has put out a comprehensive rebuttal to this study, and we think it does a great job of explaining why this isn't much of a revelation. Check it out here.
